Horrifying New Technology

Tracking Chips Placed in Workers

by Michael David McGuire

According to broadcast news reports that should scare the living hell out of freedom loving people everywhere, an Ohio company has embedded silicon chips into two employees as a way of identifying them and monitoring their movements. The claim is that this new technology will enhance security, however it is a dangerous precedent that is just the ugly tip of a giant and terrible evil.

As worker privacy rights are eroded at an astonishing pace worldwide, this type of electronic tracking could be the first step in the 24/7 tracking of all people, everywhere. As Big Government intrudes more and more into our daily lives… exerting more and more control over every movement… the step towards total thought and physical control is not far behind.

As with all new technologies that offer great harm, the PR masters spin a tale of perceived human good. In this frightening test case from Ohio we are told that this "harmless" technology will greatly increase "security" with minimal human inconvenience. This same technology is being pitched as a way to help hospital patients and to protect little children from supposedly lurking kidnappers and child pornographers. This device presents extremely serious privacy and civil liberty issues. People everywhere should absolutely and completed reject out of hand any permanent numbering technology.

The primary defender of this techno-horror seems to be a company called VeriChip in Delray Beach, Florida. The company's slick web site shows happy people all chipped-up… good looking, big smiles… maybe too dumb to know the horror in which they participate. Proudly touting "RFID for People," the VeriChip web site states the company provides state-of-the-art security solutions that identify, locate, and protect people, their assets, and their environments" and that they ensure "the safety and security organizations are looking for." A more accurate quote might be "This is the mark of The Beast… and I am here!"
